A lamp can be lit starting at 3 AM in the morning (Brahma Muhurtham) up to 8.24 AM anytime and 5.00 PM to 8.24 PM anytime. It can be lit 24 hours also. Children to be encouraged and habituated to light the lamp which is the greatest remedy for a family.

15. How can a person follow these timings if he/she is available only at 8.00 PM or working for different Global timings?

One of the solutions is to have a Nanda Deepa (24 hours/Akhanda Deepa). The alternate is to light the lamp for at least sometime in the window specified to reap the benefits.

Light two lamps(earthen/ brass) with this oil and place them on both sides of the main entrance of the house every day (morning and evening). Chant the kuladevata's name while lighting the lamp. This is also suitable for light at Tulasi plant “Brindavan”.

Light this lamp in the puja room during evenings for a minimum of 2 hours 24 minutes from sunset (E.g.: 6.00 PM to 8.24 PM)
